Efficiency at the table

A Muslim is measured and avoids wastage. They are vigilant even in something as routine as eating. This is a great character and a sign of reliability.

The prophet (صلي الله عليه و سلم) used to pick morsels from the table cloth and lick his fingers after eating.

Food would be sent to Hadrat Miya Sahib (رحمه الله تعالي) from his house. As per his habit, he would eat very less. The remaining food, he would give to local children. The meat that survived, he would leave next to the wall for the cat. The leftover, he would break and leave it for the birds. The residue on the table-spread, he would dust next to the anthill.
